"The Best Start is an Early Start."

Starting Early Honors Our Heroes

Air Park Starting Early’s students participated in activities to honor our heroes and recognize the ten year anniversary of 9/11. The classes dedicated this special time to educate our children about America, the flag, the colors “red, white and blue” and all the special community helper heroes: fireman, police and EMT.

Beautiful and unique artwork was created to represent the United States and its flag. In the classroom and throughout the hallways, both staff and students filled the school with red, white, and blue. Everybody wore red, white, and blue all through the week. Classroom discussions were held to inform our children about the meanings of these special colors in a preschool-friendly approach. For example, Red stands for courage, White stands for peace, and Blue stands for being fair and a good friend.  Math skills were promoted as the children counted the stars on the flags and the 4 year old students began to learn to recite the Pledge of Allegiance. Smiles spread across many faces as they took turns holding the flag in front of their classmates.  In these special moments, you can truly feel proud to be an American.
