All of our teaching practices stem from the replication of the documented research and principles of Applied Behavior Analysis and Positive Behavior Supports.  Aligning our program with these principles requires that data are collected as evidence and support of curriculum and procedures used

Family Tours

  • Tours are conducted by Entitlement Specialist or Program Manager at families’ request
  • Tours are recommended to take place during a Monday through Friday business week preferably around 9:30am to 2:30pm when the current students are in their day program.
  • Any related clinical support is invited to accompany the family on the tours.
  • The family is provided with the CRP handbook for informational purposes 30 days prior to admission

Family participation

  • Staff Appreciation Day Participation

  • Special Occasions; Birthdays, Holiday dinners/parties/graduation parties (may be residence specific)
  • Parent questionnaire
  • Evening Lecture Series

Assessment/Instructional Strategies:

Focus is on providing meaningful and productive activities to help individuals work on their individualized goals while participating in group and individual activities in social skills, communication skills independent living skills, self-care skills, life safety skills, vocational opportunities, volunteer opportunities, sports, nutrition and exercise, leisure activities and community outings.

DDI advocates participate in annual state and regional Self Advocacy conferences. Each individual is encouraged to be as independent as possible based on his/her abilities, from making choices about preferred foods and activities to vocational opportunities. 

Specific Services;

Medical; The CRP has two full time licensed RN’s and one full time licensed RN Supervisor. We also have two full time medical transport specialists who assist the student’s on medical appointments.

Psychology Department: The CRP has one full time Psychology Coordinator and two full time Applied Behavior Specialists who coordinate with our Children’s Day program and Adult services for all behavioral support plans/components. In addition to these clinicians we have two full time speech therapists who coordinate all speech services including augmentative devices, PECS books and goals with our Children’s Day program and Adult Services. Each of these clinicians trains our staff on all of our individual student’s behavior support plans and communication goals.

Staff Trainer: The CRP has one full time staff trainer who is responsible for all hiring, scheduling and inputting of trainings annual and re-certifications. These trainings include; SCIP-R, CPR, First Aid, Teaching Strategies, MIPS, Emergency Procedures, Fire Plans, Dignity and Respect, Incident reporting, Sexual Harrassment, Corporate Compliance, Drug policy and any agency policies and procedures.
