The day included a delicious barbecue lunch, a car wash, prizes, and giveaways. In order to participate, guests needed to complete a DDI Transportation Department quiz. Questions included safety measures and interesting facts about the agency’s driving rules and statistics. A perfect score automatically entered staff into a drawing for the Google Assistant, L.I. Ducks tickets, and a detailing bucket.
Representatives from 511 NY Rideshare were also in attendance to offer different transportation options for easy and affordable alternatives to driving alone.
“We have continued Fleet Safety Day for so long because the staff enjoy it and, more importantly, we get to show the staff that we appreciate them and acknowledge the fact that they support us in our attempts to create a safer work environment,” commented Transportation Director Andrew Brathwaite.
