All programs enjoyed activities and events to acknowledge Valentine’s Day. The Employee Involvement Committee hosted a Valentine craft event and members of our Adult Services programs assisted in painting the necessary supplies. Employees and their families were invited to create decorated cards and vases filled with fresh roses.
The staff and students from the Children’s Day Program hosted a waffle bar, complete with all the fixings you could think of and sold beautifully hand-crafted Valentine’s Day pallet wood hearts.
Adult Residential Services had its annual Valentine’s Day Party. The gym of our Meadow Glen Campus was converted to a party space, complete with a DJ, dance floor, photo booth, and plenty of room to hang out with friends. The highlight of the evening wasn’t the dance floor; however, but rather the intense competition of the annual Cupcake Contest.
Fourteen houses entered with their best culinary creations to try and win the coveted “Best Looking” and “Best Taste” awards. The trophies are fought over every year and bragging rights were on the line. In the end, the ladies of Melrose won Best Looking while the Creek Road family took home the Best Taste award.
