Sensory Toy Donations Brighten Lives at DDI

DDI extends our heartfelt gratitude to Spectrum Expression for their generous donation of sensory toys for the children in our day and residential programs. We are especially grateful to Adeline and Andi, who presented them to the students. Their contribution provides engaging and enriching experiences to foster comfort and learning.

Sensory play is vital for children with developmental disabilities, as it helps them explore their surroundings, develop essential skills and discover moments of calm and joy.

Spectrum Expression also presented a music workshop for the students in the Children’s Day Program in Smithtown.

Through Spectrum Expression, I aim to create an inclusive and supportive environment where the autistic community can explore and engage with music. In collaborative group settings, individuals with autism will have the opportunity to engage with volunteers who will guide them in singing, playing instruments, reading music, and even exploring movement and dance. (Adeline, About Me)

Together, Spectrum Expression and DDI are united in our efforts to promote understanding, inclusion and acceptance of people on the autism spectrum.
