What defines a princess? Is it her beauty, intelligence and strength? Absolutely, she embodies all these qualities. But above all, it's her inner spirit that truly makes her a princess.
Recently, Kacie, a student in our Children’s Day and Residential Programs, wanted to be a princess. To help her realize her dream, staff thought a fresh haircut would help her feel pampered and beautiful. So, they created a hair salon right in her home. Michelle, the hairdresser, was happy to help and came to the house prepared to do her best work.
It had been four years since her last haircut; therefore, Direct Support Professionals Marie and Juliette were there to support Kacie through the process. They are perfect examples of staff providing exceptional person-centered care.
Thanks to everyone’s participation, the haircut was a huge success.
Kacie did an incredible job during her haircut and loves her new hairdo. She welcomes all the compliments and is enjoying her updated look! Kacie is beautiful inside and out. She is smart and she is strong—she is the true definition of a princess.
