At its homecoming game Saturday, Stony Brook University became one of the first in the country to offer "sensory bags" to attendees who need them.

On Tuesday, October 23rd, DDI held the annual Employee Service Awards at the Water Mill located in Smithtown. This very special evening paid tribute to DDI staff members for their accomplishments and dedication.

The system of supports for people with developmental disabilities has evolved over the years from an institution-based system to a community-based support system based on meeting the needs of each person. This evolution was brought about by the people that we support, their family members, providers, and our staff all working together.

Dietrich Warner from our Adult Residential Services Program was honored on October 23rd as our 2018 Employee of the Year. We thank you and honor you for your ongoing commitment to bettering the lives of the individuals we support.

This Sunday, Kevin Long, parent and former DDI Board Member, will run the Marine Corps Marathon in Washington, DC, to help upgrade safety doors and locks at DDI’s Early Childhood Learning Center in Huntington.
